Paint effects include colour-washing, dragging, ragging, liming, dry-brush work, scumble glazing, fading, sponging, stencilling, stippling, marbling, hand-painted borders, guilding, stone-block work, mock fresco, aging and distressing, plaster texturing and crackle glazes. These effects can often be achieved even on a limited budget.
